Georgia ranked 35th out of 63 countries in the updated Nomad Lifestyle Index, a ranking that assesses the attractiveness of states for expats, entrepreneurs, and digital nomads.

The country received 52.7 points out of a possible 100. Experts named its tax system as its main advantage, while ecology and infrastructure were its weakest areas.

The index is compiled by the consulting company Nomad Capitalist. It takes into account five equally weighted criteria: taxation, safety and freedoms, conditions for obtaining residency, quality of life and infrastructure, and nature and climate. Each indicator accounts for 20% of the final score.

Georgia received its highest score for its tax system, 89 points out of 100. Experts noted the appeal of its tax conditions, including low effective rates for certain types of foreign income, the absence of wealth and inheritance taxes, and the stability of its legislation.

On the safety and freedoms criterion, the country scored 58.2 points. The assessment considered crime levels, personal and economic freedoms, and indicators from the Global Peace Index.

Conditions for obtaining residency and the accessibility of the country were rated at 41.1 points. This indicator includes the availability of programs for digital nomads and investors, the strength of the national passport, and naturalization timelines.

For quality of life and infrastructure, Georgia received 38.1 points. Factors influencing this score included life expectancy, mobile and fixed internet speeds, and the level of infrastructure development.

The weakest indicator was nature and climate, at 37.1 points. In this category Georgia ranked last, 63rd. The index accounts for air quality, the risk of extreme weather events, levels of sunshine, and the condition of ecosystems.

Andorra took second place with 73.68 points. It showed the best results on criteria of safety, personal freedoms, and air purity. Third were the United Arab Emirates with 73.15 points, whose strongest aspect was its tax system, rated at 96 points.

The top ten also included Malta, Portugal, Cyprus, Singapore, the Cayman Islands, New Zealand, and Switzerland.

The Nomad Lifestyle Index is intended for those choosing a country for relocation, remote work, or doing business. It compares tax and legal conditions with the quality of everyday life and environmental characteristics.
