An international team of students and cinematographers is filming a documentary about the restoration of the 1100-year-old Nuka Sakdari church in southeastern Turkey. The unique 9th-century church, located on a steep cliff, lacks basic architectural documentation. According to information from the Romanian partner Basilica.ro, from October 7 to 20, specialists from Spain, France, Italy, Turkey, and Argentina conduct massive restoration works. Leading engineers inspect the interior of the church with laser scanners, while specialists and a sculptor restore the facade and roof using 3D printing with drones. "Without blackouts, nothing happens with the site: no dismantling, no finishing, no one section of the stone walls," the documentary team notes. The film documents the restoration process, highlighting the careful and innovative techniques used to preserve this historical monument.
