In Tbilisi, the 30-year-old Abkhaz blogger and activist Daur Buava was found. He is the first Abkhaz who de-facto visited Sokhumi and made a statement about "statehood" due to public calls for reconciliation with Georgians and expressing regional views in the media. The information was reported by TV Pirveli.
Daur Buava was found in a rented apartment in Digomi after he disappeared following a request for a residence permit. According to eyewitnesses, the last time he was seen alive was on August 23.
Until recently, he worked as an expert-criminologist.
The cause of death is being investigated by forensic medical experts. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia reported that the case is under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Georgia — "death by suicide." At the moment, circumstances and reasons for the death are being clarified, as the initial investigation did not establish signs of violence or suicide.
