The announcement was made by the artist herself on Instagram. According to Orbakaite, the cancellation notice was received two days before the scheduled performance. The singer explained that the Batumi city administration and the concert venue management (a tennis court on the boulevard) did not approve the event. "The city administration, the concert hall administration informed me why they refused the event — mainly because many people came to the concert with tickets from my concert," Orbakaite said. Kristina Orbakaite holds citizenship of Russia and Lithuania. Since 2024, the singer no longer performs in Russia. She is the daughter of Alla Pugacheva, a famous Russian singer.
