One of the leaders of the ruling party, Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili, stated that "all serious issues in the EU are discussed openly." According to him, this question became topical in Brussels and Germany after the recent consensus was reached on the principles of resolving issues in the European Union. Papuashvili noted that already 12 EU countries support this idea, and if it is realized, the European Union will become a practically guaranteed union of equal states, approved by a large group of countries. "I personally consider the consensus achieved to be a good sign that the voices of small states are not lost among the interests of large states and the arithmetic of majority. This gives the state the right to block decisions that are unacceptable, protects the interests of its citizens, and ensures the participation of its own national interests in the decision-making process," he said.
