Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev approved a bilateral agreement with Georgia on electricity supply and its transit through Georgian territory. The official document was published on the government website. The agreement was signed by authorized representatives of both countries on May 18 in Baku and regulates cooperation in the electricity export and transit sector for 20 years. According to the agreement, the Azerbaijani energy ministry must provide a real supply of electricity, and the ministry of infrastructure is responsible for monitoring the Georgian side's compliance with all internal procedures necessary for its export to the country. The agreement is part of a package of energy agreements signed during the meeting of the bilateral commission. Thus, Azerbaijan and Georgia continue to strengthen their cooperation in the energy sector, contributing to regional energy security and economic development.
