The Georgian government has agreed to begin work on providing benefits for children suffering from muscular dystrophy, following numerous requests from parents. This decision was made during a meeting with the Minister of Health, Irakli Kobakhidze, who discussed the issue with representatives of patient families. According to the Minister, the government and the families of children agreed to create a joint working group with the participation of the Ministry. This group will engage in negotiations with pharmaceutical companies and prepare proposals for benefits for patients. "We agreed on concrete medications to start working with. The final decision will be made with the participation of various factors, including the government and pharmaceutical companies," Kobakhidze said.
