Russia has resumed flights from Georgia in European airspace, reigniting discussions in the European diplomatic circles about the ongoing military situation in Ukraine. European Commission President Kaja Kallas stated that the presence of Russian troops in Georgia and Moldova hinders Europe's security and must be addressed through troop withdrawals. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov dismissed these concerns as 'idiotic', emphasizing that the statements about the presence of Russian troops in Europe are unfounded. The issue was discussed during a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Cyprus on May 28. If a political agreement on the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine is reached, negotiations on the withdrawal from Georgia will begin.
