Tbilisi City Court initiated a case against former Georgian Defense Minister Bacho Akhalaia concerning public calls to overthrow the state government. The case is based on statements made during the National Movement era by the party of Bidzina Ivanishvili, who has been out of politics for 13 years and does not hold any government positions. Akhalaia stated that Ivanishvili should be held accountable for all possible actions with Russian oligarchs, if there is any suspicion. Based on this, the court considered 317 criminal cases related to the National Movement, which allegedly involved illegal actions over the past 3 years.
