The main and oldest stadium in Georgia, the Dinamo-Arena in Tbilisi, is planned to be reconstructed. The project aims to increase the stadium's capacity to 70,000 seats. The reconstruction will be a radical transformation of the historic sports complex. The new concept was presented by architects Gii and Archil Kurdiani, who have been involved with the stadium since 1936. The project was initiated by the president of the football club Dinamo Tbilisi, Roman Pipia. The architects explained that the main problem of the stadium is its small size in the city center. They propose to use the airspace above the stadium to build several floors of commercial space. The arena will also feature a new parking lot with a capacity of 800 cars.
