Один из лидеров правящей партии, спикер парламента Грузии Шалва Папуашвили заявил, что «все более актуальные вопросы в ЕС обсуждаются открыто». По его словам, этот вопрос стал актуальным в Брюсселе и Германии после того, как был достигнут консенсус по принципам решения вопросов в Европейском союзе. Папуашвили отметил, что уже 12 стран ЕС поддерживают эту идею, и если она будет реализована, то Европейский союз станет практически гарантированным союзом равноправных государств, одобренным большой группой стран. «Лично я считаю достигнутый консенсус хорошим знаком, что голоса малых государств не теряются среди интересов больших государств и арифметики большинства. Это даёт государству право заблокировать решения, которые неприемлемы, защищает интересы своих граждан и обеспечивает участие своих национальных интересов в процессе принятия решений», — сказал он.

"I personally consider the consensus achieved to be a good sign that the voices of small states are not lost among the interests of large states and the arithmetic of majority. This gives the state the right to block decisions that are unacceptable, protects the interests of its citizens, and ensures the participation of its own national interests in the decision-making process," he said.
