Picture this: you leave ancient Amman in the morning, and within hours you are wandering Tbilisi's hilly streets, where carved wooden balconies sit beside the scent of fresh bread from a tone oven. That is now reality. Jordan's national carrier, Royal Jordanian, has launched direct flights between Amman and Georgia's capital.

The first scheduled flight, operated by an Airbus A320, landed in Tbilisi on 22 October. At the start, the Amman–Tbilisi–Amman route will operate once a week, on Thursdays. It is a convenient rhythm for anyone planning an unhurried journey or a vivid long weekend in the Caucasus.

The launch followed long preparation: the Georgian Airports Union has been in talks with Royal Jordanian's management since 2024. Georgia now welcomes another major international airline, and travelers from the Middle East gain a simple new route to the country's mountains, vineyards and generous tables.

The arrival of Jordan's flagship carrier continues the expansion of Georgia's international network. Today, direct flights operate from Georgian airports to 92 destinations in 37 countries. The network is spread across three main hubs: Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi. In the first nine months of 2026, the country's airports handled 6.6 million passengers, with Tbilisi International Airport accounting for 4.98 million.

The new service also works as a transit bridge: Amman becomes a convenient hub for onward travel. For visitors, that means more freedom to shape an itinerary and combine several countries in a single trip.

Once you land, Georgia offers everything from Tbilisi's sulfur baths and Kutaisi's markets to Batumi's seaside boulevard. Not far from the capital, Algeti National Park is welcoming back red deer born at Tbilisi Zoo, a reminder of how much natural beauty awaits beyond the city.
