Another major international player has entered Georgia's aviation market — Jordan's national airline, Royal Jordanian. This is officially reported by the Airports Association of Georgia.

The airline successfully operated its first regular flight from Amman to Tbilisi on October 22 aboard an Airbus A320 aircraft.

At the initial stage, flights on the Amman-Tbilisi-Amman route will operate once a week — on Thursdays.

The result is the culmination of lengthy diplomatic and commercial work: the Airports Association of Georgia had been negotiating with the management of Royal Jordanian Airlines since 2024.

The arrival of Jordan's flagship carrier continues the expansion of the country's international network. According to specialized aviation databases, direct flights from Georgia's airports currently operate to 92 destinations in 37 countries around the world.

The route network is distributed among the three main air hubs — Tbilisi, Kutaisi, and Batumi. In the first 9 months of 2026, the combined passenger traffic of the airports reached 6.6 million people. Tbilisi International Airport remains the absolute leader, accounting for 4.98 million passengers.

Opening direct service with Jordan not only strengthens tourism potential between the Middle East and Georgia, but also opens a convenient transit hub in Amman for passengers' onward travel.
