In January–September 2026, Georgia exported 826 tonnes of snails with a total value of $3 million. This is reported by the country's Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.

Compared with the same period last year, the physical volume of supplies increased by 75% (by 353 tonnes), and revenue in monetary terms increased by 67% ($1.2 million).

The main share of exports falls on just two key destinations:

The positive trend in the sector has persisted for several years in a row. By the end of 2025, the volume of foreign supplies reached 571 tonnes, which was 2.1 times higher than the 2024 figures. Current statistics show that the pace of growth is only accelerating.

The foundation for the industry's development was Georgia's receipt of official permission to export snails to the European Union market in 2022. This was preceded by extensive work by the Ministry of Agriculture to harmonize national legislation with the EU's strict sanitary and veterinary standards.

Today, commercial snail farming and collection in Georgia has become one of the most high-yield niches of the agricultural sector.
