The 2026-2027 winter season at Georgia's ski resorts will officially start on December 20. This was announced by the Mountain Trails Agency (MTA) of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.

Ski trails in Gudauri, Bakuriani, Goderdzi, and Mestia (Hatsvali and Tetnuldi) will begin accepting winter sports enthusiasts simultaneously.

The flagship resort of Gudauri will greet the new season with a significantly upgraded technical base and an expanded skiing area. Construction work there is already in its final stages.

The old dismantled "Khada" and "Snowpark" chairlifts have been replaced with two new T-bar lifts with a total length of 1,400 meters. A 200-meter magic carpet lift is also being installed for beginners. The work is being carried out by the world industry leader, the Austrian-Swiss company Doppelmayr-Garaventa.

The arrangement of two new runs, "Kobi 3" and "Tatra 3," with a total length of 6 kilometers is being completed. With their opening, the total length of marked trails in Gudauri will reach 86 kilometers.

Snowmaking systems are being installed on the "Soliko" and "Kikilo" trails, covering a section 7.5 kilometers long.

A modern lighting system is being installed on the "Akhali Gudauri" trail, which will allow night skiing to be fully launched.

All work at the facilities is planned to be completed before the official opening on December 20.
