In the economic sector of Georgia, there is an active investment from Chinese capitalists — representatives of the PRC are buying small hotels in mountain towns to independently serve the growing flow of tourists from China. This was stated by the head of the Association of Small and Medium Businesses of Georgia, Mikhail Chelidze, during an interview with BMG.

According to him, this is not only about classic commercial investments in medium-sized businesses but also about creating a network infrastructure. "The Chinese have become active investors recently. They buy many hotels, but not for commercial purposes. They buy tourist facilities and businesses in the PRC, opening dozens of files to fully control tourist flows from China. They use modern models, for example, in Germany. This is really about significant investments, and investors are interested," said Chelidze.
