Daily money transfers from Russia to Georgia can significantly increase in the coming months due to the adaptation of financial channels, despite the August ban on the Russian payment system 'Golden Crown'. This was stated by TBC Capital's macroeconomic research team.
The growth of transfers is expected after the introduction of sanctions against the Russian payment operator 'Golden Crown' in early July.
According to the data analysis, in August, the volume of daily transfers from Russia decreased by 88% in monetary terms — down to $5.1 million (compared to $41 million per year). In the list of countries, Russia ranked third among 11 countries in the money transfer system.
By July 2026, 'Golden Crown' is expected to account for more than 97% of all daily transfers from Russia to Georgia.
The analytical trend was confirmed both in physical and digital channels.
