Daily passenger traffic from Russia to Georgia increased by 88% in August, with the Russian Federation not even entering the top ten countries for the first time. Positive trends continued in September with a threefold increase over 11 months. The increase was facilitated by the introduction of the 'Golden Crown' sanctions protection system by the Central Bank of Russia. If in August 2025, 41 million dollars were transferred from Russia to Georgia, by August 2026 this sum is expected to increase to 5.1 million dollars, representing 1.7% of the total transfer volume. In August 2026, the volume of daily passenger traffic from Russia to Georgia is expected to increase by 8.2%, from 295 million to 322 million dollars. Leaders in daily passenger traffic to Georgia in recent times are also noted.
