Luka Ekhvaya Appointed as Georgia's New Minister of Economy

Political commentator and blogger Luka Ekhvaya has been appointed as the head of the administration of the President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavtelashvili. This was announced by the press service of the head of state.

Following this appointment, Ekhvaya became known as a close ally of the president. His declared wealth amounts to about 6.5 thousand lari (approximately $2,500).

With the appointment of Kavtelashvili as the head of the administration in 2024, a systematic young jurist and bureaucrat with more than 20 years of experience in government and three sectors took office. His departure is expected to be smooth.

The new head of the presidential administration has a professional academic background: he graduated with a bachelor's degree in international relations in Kavkazskiy.
