In Adjara, a man who exploited a family of Georgian emigrants was detained. He helped them with the purchase of a residence permit. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia reported the arrest. According to the investigation, the suspect came to the home of the emigrant family and offered to take care of their residence permit in Georgia. Before the arrest, the suspect received several payments totaling about 16,300 GEL. None of the victims reported the crime. The suspect was charged under Article 180, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (fraud committed on a large scale). The maximum sentence under this article is up to 9 years imprisonment.
