The official start of the grape harvest season — "Rtveli-2026" — has begun in Kakheti, Georgia's famous wine region. As of today, approximately 2.7 thousand tons of grapes have already been harvested in the region. The grape harvest is proceeding actively across all municipalities of the region, with a total yield expected to reach around 320 thousand tons this year. For the first time, over 230 wine companies have registered to participate in the coordinated grape purchase process. The Government of Georgia assists every farmer during the harvest season by selecting the best offers from licensed state companies. Prices vary depending on the grape variety and quality. The main mass (over 320 thousand tons) is harvested in Kakheti, with about 170 thousand tons consisting of Rkatsiteli and other varieties.
