The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $2.5 million credit to support a large-scale project aimed at protecting Georgia's sea coast from erosion. The project will focus on preserving the Black Sea shoreline and enhancing coastal infrastructure.

The department of automobile roads of Georgia has already announced an international tender to select a consulting company that will develop detailed engineering projects for the protection and restoration of the Black Sea coastline.

The tender will last until October 2, with the actual work expected to begin in the summer of 2027.

Over 9 months, engineers plan to study a coastal line of about 115 kilometers, where silty shores, sea waves, and coastal currents cause the erosion of beach sand.

The winning company will be selected among a minimum of 9 applications, with participants required to have experience in erosion risk assessment, economic knowledge, and responsibility.
