Businessman Irakli Rukhadze, associated with the ruling party 'Georgian Dream,' has sold another major asset in Georgia. The deal was conducted through the investment holding Hunnewell Partners. The Rustavi Steel metallurgical plant was officially acquired from the Armenian ownership by the Georgian company PM Metal. Information about the transaction was published in the government register and documents of the National Agency of Competition, reports the agency bm.ge. The process of transferring ownership was completed in several stages. In December 2025, Rustavi Steel sold a line for the production of rebar to the subsidiary company Iberia Rebar. On July 30, 2026, 100% of this firm was transferred to the ownership of PM Metal, owned by Georgian businessman Giorgi Mirianishvili. An official announcement is also planned regarding this transaction.
