A microbus driver involved in an accident on the road near the high mountain resort of Gomisthavi did not have the required driving license category. This information was reported by the State Tourism Agency of Georgia.
"It is established that on August 12, on the 16th kilometer of the mountain road of Gomisthavi in the municipality of Ozurgeti, a microbus driver, who was transporting tourists, did not have the required driving license category to transport such a number of passengers, and did not comply with traffic rules, lost control of the vehicle, went off the road, and overturned," the statement said.
In the result, four citizens of Belarus, including three children, received various degrees of injuries. Two of the injured are in a hospital.
The driver was detained for 8 hours 276 minutes.
