The Georgian government has resolved to reduce the fees for the deep-water port of Anaklia, one of the country's key strategic projects. This decision was made following a comprehensive assessment of the port's operation by the bm.ge agency. According to the document agreed upon with the project, by 2025, the volume of cargo handled is expected to increase by 30%, from 7.5 million to 5.25 million cubic meters. Throughout the year and especially during the summer, the port has successfully handled increased cargo volumes. The government has planned measures to ensure the port's operation during the dry season. As reported by the authorities, the parameters of the port have been adjusted based on updated hydrological, geological, and bathymetric data. In the Ministry of Economy, the decision was welcomed as a positive step to enhance the port's competitiveness and attract more business.
