In June 2026, the tourism industry index in Georgia is expected to increase by 3.9% compared to the previous year, according to the analytical forecast for the upcoming year. This data was provided by the National Statistics Service (Geostat).

The main drivers of growth are the rise in transportation, accommodation, and energy services, which increased by 16.6%. The export of goods and services, as well as retail trade, also showed growth of 5.8%. As a result, the overall tourism sector growth in the country reached 1.8%, while the hospitality sub-sector grew modestly by 0.6%.

By sector, the highest growth rate was recorded in the hotel industry (+5.8%), while the food service sector grew by 3.5%. The beverage and tobacco sector showed a slight decline of 0.1%.

Overall, by mid-2026, the tourism industry in Georgia is expected to double its growth rate, with visitor numbers increasing by 30% since the start of the year.
