Georgia's national statistics service 'Sakstat' reported a slight decline in new tourism indicators in the second quarter of 2026. From April to June, 1.7 million international visitors entered the country, about 5% less than the same period last year. The total number of tourists decreased by 2.7%, totaling approximately 1.3 million people. Tourism revenue dropped by 13% compared to the previous two quarters. Among domestic travelers, 3 million trips were made in Georgia, a 13.3% decrease from the previous results. The number of overnight stays by domestic tourists was 1,922 thousand, a 9.2% decrease. Russia remained the leader in visitor numbers with about 329 thousand people (a quarter of the total flow). Turkey showed a 17% increase in the second quarter, while Armenia's flow decreased by 11%. Despite these fluctuations, Georgia continues to attract millions of tourists annually, highlighting its appeal as a travel destination.
