Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev signed a law ratifying the intergovernmental agreement on the supply of natural gas to Georgia. The document was published on the official website of the Azerbaijani government. According to the agreement, following its ratification, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Economy will be responsible for its implementation, while the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport of Georgia will oversee the Georgian side of the agreement. The agreement was signed on May 18 in Baku during a meeting between President Aliyev and Georgia's Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, within the framework of two-day negotiations on energy and transport issues. The text of the document has not been published. The meeting with the Georgian Prime Minister was the first official meeting for President Aliyev since 2003.
