Russia has sharply increased the volume of Georgian wine exports, according to the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia. From May 1 to June 21, the volume of exports reached 2.2 thousand tons, valued at $15.7 million. Compared to the same period last year, exports increased by 13% (259 tons), and their value grew by 12% ($1.7 million).
The main recipient of Georgian wine exports is Russia, which accounted for 2,097 tons — about 95% of all exports. Other significant importers include Armenia (44 tons), Germany (30 tons), and the UAE (18 tons).
The average export price was $7.1 per kilogram.
The current season is considered successful: the harvest was favorable, and there were no significant problems with daily conditions. Experts also note the positive impact of the season's weather conditions on the quality of the harvest.
