Georgian Minister of Tourism Mikheil Kavelashvili, who arrived in Tbilisi to participate in tourism meetings, held bilateral talks with Iranian college president Masoud Pezeshkian. The meeting was attended by the administration of the Georgian leader.
During the talks, Kavelashvili also held several meetings with Iranian representatives in the field of hospitality and hotel business, including with hotel owner Ali Khamenei.
"On the agenda were good neighborly relations between Georgia and Iran, as well as the prospects for bilateral cooperation," informed the press service of Kavelashvili.
In addition, the leaders discussed the importance of developing air and rail connections in the region. Kavelashvili and Pezeshkian agreed that partnership between Tbilisi and Tehran is based on mutual respect, trust, and study of national interests of both countries.
"The Georgian president expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality during his visit to the residence of Ali Khamenei," the statement added.
