Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Tbilisi for a state visit. In the Georgian capital, he met with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, as well as the heads of the Prime Minister's office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Bochorishvili. He emphasized the importance of this meeting for both countries. "There has not been a visit from Uzbekistan to Georgia for the past 23 years," Bochorishvili noted. "This is a historic opportunity to revive our relations at a new level. We discussed the prospects of strategic cooperation." The main geopolitical vector of the visit was the meeting with the Prime Minister. Uzbekistan is one of the fastest-growing economies in Central Asia, and at a time when Georgia plays a key role in transit hubs in the region, this visit is significant.
