National carrier Georgian Airways launched regular air service between Tbilisi and Batumi on June 25. Flights will operate daily throughout the entire summer season with four flights per day: morning, afternoon, evening, and night. The main advantage is speed: a Boeing 737 jet takes just over an hour, making it the fastest alternative to road and rail transport. It is noted that in Batumi it is possible to take connecting flights. The airline also announced a special promotion: passengers who book tickets at the beginning of June will receive a 50% discount. When June started, only tickets for July were available for purchase, priced between 343 and 419 lari per one-way trip. In the Georgian segment of social networks, this news caused a wave of enthusiasm: users expressed joy and hope that during these days it will be possible to travel by air within Georgia.
