Toll roads of the "Georgian Way" and adjacent parts of the highway are being equipped with electronic toll collection systems for drivers (TIR-parks) on Georgian highways. This was reported in a new statement by the organization Transparency International Georgia (TI).

TI notes a "corruption scheme" under which the toll collection system for all toll roads was previously controlled by a legal entity of top-level officials from the customs office.

TIR-parks are special licensed parking lots located near the main border checkpoints of Georgia (including Sarpi, Kazbegi, Khashuri, Sadakhlo, and others). There are 35 such parks in the country.

Since 2014, the toll system for passenger cars has been resolved.
