The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has raised its economic growth forecast for Georgia to 6.5% by 2026, up from the previously expected 5.3%. The updated forecast was presented during the annual consultations between the IMF and Georgia held in New York. The IMF noted that the economy is showing resilience despite global uncertainties, including the war in Eastern Europe. The IMF also reported that Georgia's GDP is expected to grow by 7.5% in 2025, with economic activity reaching its peak in the first half of 2026. This positive outlook is supported by a 5.9% inflation rate in April, which is the lowest in two years, according to the National Bank of Georgia. The IMF's official statement highlighted the improved state of the economy and the prospects for continued growth.
