Georgian banks continue to provide loans to the population and businesses. According to the National Bank, the total volume of issued loans reached 72.9 billion lari in March. Compared to the same period last year, this is an increase of more than 14%.

The main two currencies of loans are the national currency and the US dollar. Only in April, loans issued in national currency increased by 453 million lari, and loans in foreign currency by 38.2 million lari.

During this period, companies also increased their deposits. The volume of loans issued to businesses in lari grew by 0.4%, while loans in foreign currency grew by 0.6%.

Overall, in April, deposits in Georgian banks reached 70 billion lari. The number of depositors and companies increased significantly compared to previous counts.
