Georgia's passenger traffic is actively growing both domestically and in international internet-magazines. According to the consulting company Galt & Taggart, the passenger traffic at Georgian airports is expected to reach 3.8 million people by 2025. This follows data showing that in 2023, Georgian citizens spent 2.2 million lari on shopping abroad, increasing to 2.9 million lari in 2024, with a projected growth of over 30% in 2025. It is noted that trade contracts are mainly concluded between domestic shops and online stores, amounting to 1.9 million lari for each direction. The main categories of expenses are food and accessories, which account for 36% of all foreign purchases. Other significant expenses include home goods (17%) and electronics.
