Georgia has approved new rules for issuing water rights, which will come into effect on June 15, 2026. The main innovation is the theoretical exam on categories B and B1 (light motor vehicles). If the test consists of 30 questions, a maximum of three mistakes is allowed, meaning a passing score is five. For successful completion, it is necessary to correctly answer at least 25 out of 27 questions. The exam duration is not limited. The list and system of questions for the city water rights exam have also been changed. The Ministry of Internal Affairs considers the new approach to be more "fair" and has prepared a special algorithm to prioritize those who take the exam first, based on the order of application submissions.
