Карантин объявлен в Цалкском муниципалитете после выявления случая бешенства. Об этом сообщили в Национальной службе продовольствия Грузии.

По данным ведомства, сельскохозяйственная государственная лаборатория подтвердила наличие бешенства в патологическом материале лисы. В ходе проверки инспекторы установили, что зараженное животное загрызли четыре бездомных собаки.

«С целью локализации и ликвидации распространения заболевания на инфицированном пункте и на прилегающей территории объявлен карантин и начаты карантинные мероприятия – дезинфекция очага, вакцинация восприимчивых к заболеванию животных, контроль за перемещением животных, изоляция животных, подозреваемых в заражении бешенством, и их перемещение в приют», – заявили в службе.

В текущем году по всей стране лабораторно подтверждены три случая бешенства. Ведомство ежегодно проводит бесплатную вакцинацию животных от этого заболевания.

Власти призвали население регулярно прививать домашних животных (собак и кошек) от бешенства, отметив, что контроль численности бездомных животных и их вакцинация играют ключевую роль в снижении распространения заболевания и его возможной ликвидации.

According to the agency, the state agricultural laboratory confirmed the presence of rabies in pathological material from a fox. During the inspection, inspectors established that four stray dogs had bitten the infected animal.

"In order to localize and eliminate the spread of the disease, quarantine has been declared at the infected site and in the adjacent territory, and quarantine measures have been initiated — disinfection of the outbreak, vaccination of animals susceptible to the disease, control over the movement of animals, isolation of animals suspected of rabies infection, and their transfer to a shelter," the agency stated.

Three cases of rabies have been laboratory-confirmed across the country this year. The agency annually conducts free vaccination of animals against this disease.

Authorities have called on the population to regularly vaccinate domestic animals (dogs and cats) against rabies, noting that controlling the number of stray animals and their vaccination play a key role in reducing the spread of the disease and its possible elimination.
