Хареба – так на грузинском называется Благовещение Пресвятой Богородицы, один из 12-и главных церковных праздников.

Согласно евангельскому преданию, в этот день в городе Назарете в Галилее Богородице явился Архангел Гавриил и принес ей весть, что у неё родится Сын Божий и Спаситель человечества.

По одной из версий, праздник Благовещения Богородицы был установлен святителем Кириллом I, епископом Иерусалимским, в середине IV века. По другой версии, праздник был известен еще в III веке.

Праздник Благовещения – не переходящий и всегда отмечается 7 апреля. В этот день ослабляется строгий Великий пост – христианам разрешается есть рыбу. Во все время поста подобное послабление делается только дважды: на Благовещение и на праздник Входа Господня в Иерусалим.

According to Gospel tradition, on this day in the city of Nazareth in Galilee, the Archangel Gabriel appeared to the Virgin Mary and brought her the news that the Son of God and Savior of mankind would be born to her.

According to one version, the feast of the Annunciation of the Theotokos was established by Saint Cyril I, Bishop of Jerusalem, in the mid-4th century. According to another version, the feast was known as early as the 3rd century.

The feast of the Annunciation is not movable and is always celebrated on April 7. On this day, the strict Great Lent is relaxed — Christians are allowed to eat fish. During the entire fasting period, such a concession is made only twice: on the Annunciation and on the feast of the Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem.
