Грузия получила $11 млн на развитие национальных парков и охраняемых природных территорий. Меморандум подписали министр охраны окружающей среды и директор CNF Дэвид Моррисон.

Проект рассчитан на ближайшие пять лет. Швейцарский грантодатель Фонд Висс выделил CNF более $7,2 млн. С участием представителей Кавказского фонда природы и других доноров общая сумма инвестиций в заповедники составила около $11 млн.

Часть выделенных грантов направят на обеспечение и развитие новой охраняемой территории Цив-Гомбори в Кахетии.

Также средства пойдут на улучшение инфраструктуры существующих национальных парков, в том числе создание современных систем мониторинга.

Georgia has received $11 million to develop national parks and protected territories. The memorandum was signed by the Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia and the official director of the Caucasus Nature Fund (CNF), David Morrison.

The project is planned for the next five years. The Swiss grantor, the Wyss Foundation, provided CNF with more than $7.2 million. With the participation of representatives from the Caucasus Nature Fund and other donors, a joint investment summary of $11 million was created for the development of protected areas in Georgia.

The number of grants depends on the sustainability and development of the new protected territory of the Tskiv-Gombori in Kakheti.

Also, the funds will be used to improve the infrastructure of existing national parks, including the creation of modern monitoring systems.
