Программа кардиологии в Центре Дэвиса Гарвардского университета, действовавшая с 2022 года, приостановила работу. Министерство образования и науки Грузии объявило о прекращении её финансирования.

«Продолжение нового этапа программы не удалось согласовать», — говорится в заявлении ведомства, представленном на пресс-конференции.

В министерстве уточнили, что отказ от продолжения связан с бюрократическими причинами: Грузия не предоставила отчёт о проделанной работе, контрактные обязательства и «измеримые результаты» на следующем этапе. В ведомстве утверждают, что это не означает отказ от академического сотрудничества с США и выразили надежду возобновить новые проекты при их поддержке.

Один из грузинских академических центров выразил обеспокоенность тем, что за этим решением стоит политика.

The cardiology program at the David Gharvard University Center, which has been operating since 2022, has suspended its activities. The Georgian Ministry of Education and Science announced the termination of its financing.

"The continuation of this stage of the program is impossible," said the spokesperson at a press conference, explaining the decision.

At the ministry, it was clarified that the decision was made based on bureaucratic reasons: Georgia did not provide feedback on the program, contractual obligations, and "unrealistic results" following this stage. The ministry emphasized that this does not indicate a rejection of academic cooperation with the USA and expressed hope to resume new projects with their assistance.

One of the academic centers in Georgia expressed concern that this decision may affect the country's policy.
