Грузия официально представила мирное урегулирование конфликта с Россией, а главными приоритетами Тбилиси остаются деоккупация и восстановление доверия между разделёнными общностями. Об этом заявило Министерство иностранных дел Грузии в 18-ю годовщину августовской войны 2008 года.

«Восемнадцать лет спустя цель Грузии — мир и единство — остаётся неизменной. Грузия проводит свою политику и усилия, основанные на принципах международного права, для обеспечения мирного территориального целостности, неприкосновенности и стабильности», — заявили в МИД.

В ведомстве подчеркнули, что спустя 18 лет Россия пытается узаконить оккупацию грузинских территорий с 12 августа 2008 года, нарушая контроль над Абхазией и Цхинвальским регионом, а также продолжает наращивать военное присутствие там.

Georgia officially presented a peaceful conflict resolution with Russia, while the main priorities of Tbilisi remain de-occupation and restoration of relations between the divided communities. This statement was made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia on the 18th anniversary of the August 2008 war.

"The aspiration of the entire Georgian people — peace and unity — remains unchanged. Georgia pursues its policy and efforts focused on principles of international law to ensure peaceful territorial integrity, inviolability, and stability," the Ministry said.

It was also noted that Russia has been trying for 18 years to legitimize the occupation of Georgian territories since August 12, 2008, violating control over Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region, and continues to strengthen its military presence there.
