По их информации, президент Азербайджана Ильхам Алиев говорил о реализации «Зангезурского коридора», что представляет собой территориальные претензии к Сюнику.
«Я надеюсь, что этот проект будет полностью реализован в ближайшем будущем. Мы также очень хорошо знаем, что в Турции началось строительство железной дороги Карс-Нахичевань. Таким образом, комбинация и скоординированная реализация этих проектов откроет новый важный международный коридор и сделает Шушинский коридор одним из его ответвлений. Железнодорожная инфраструктура, которую мы строим, на первом этапе была рассчитана на перевозку 15 миллионов тонн грузов. Но в будущем этот показатель может увеличиться и, вероятно, увеличится. Если необходимо, в ближайшем случае мощность нового коридора может возрасти как с точки зрения наших стран, так и из-за более широкой географии. И здесь мы уже займем очень серьезную и ответственную позицию. Мы обеспечим собственные интересы и мирно продвинем новые транспортные маршруты. Or this will once again demonstrate that our countries, our organization's goal is peace, cooperation, security, mutual respect and common interests," noted the President of Azerbaijan.
