Following the inauguration of the new Georgia-Katolikha highway, which connects Georgia with Israel, Italy, Armenia, and Turkey, a series of diplomatic visits began. The highway, opened on June 11, features a protocol ceremony and was attended by representatives of the Georgian Patriarchate and the newly elected head of the Georgian Orthodox Church, Ilia II, along with Patriarch Shio III. Participants included notable figures such as Vali Abu Khaya (Israel), Garet Word (Italy), Massimiliano D’Antuono (Italy), Ashot Smbatyan (Armenia), and Mustafa Tüker Ari (Turkey). The highway offers stunning mountain views and is expected to enhance tourism and transport connectivity in the region. Additionally, Georgian President Andria Dzhagmaidze praised the project, highlighting its role in strengthening friendly and warm relations between the countries involved, as well as promoting Georgian tourism.
