Решение властей Грузии о создании государственного органа по координации правозащитных организаций, которые занимаются сообщениями о случаях пыток и коррупции, вызывает опасения по поводу независимости судов и прокуратуры, сообщает Transparency International Georgia (TI). Парламент Грузии уже принял закон об учреждении и деятельности этого нового органа, который возглавил экс-глава Службы государственной безопасности (СГБ) Мамука Мдинарадзе. 30 апреля прокурор представил посмертный отчет, раскрывающий полный план нового чиновника. Согласно документу, правительство будет координировать работу МВД, СГБ и Службы специальных операций, реагируя на сообщения о внутренних и внешних угрозах безопасности, а также от прокуратуры, судебной системы и СГБ.

The Georgian government has established a state body to coordinate reports from witnesses of torture and corruption, which Transparency International Georgia (TI) says threatens the independence of courts and the prosecution. The Georgian Parliament has already passed a law on the establishment and operation of this new ex-head of the State Security Service (SSS), Mamu Mdinaraidze. On April 30, the prosecutor submitted a posthumous report, revealing the full plan of the new official. According to the document, the government will coordinate the work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the SSS, and the Special Operations Service, responding to reports of internal and external threats to security, as well as from the prosecutor's office, the judiciary, and the State Security Service.
