The Tbilisi Appellate Court sentenced a 19-year-old student from the city of Zestaponi for attempted murder during a protest. In July 2025, the student inflicted four stab wounds and six knife injuries on a police officer during the protest action. According to the prosecution, the incident occurred during a meeting on Rustaveli Avenue on November 30, 2024, where the accused stabbed a police officer in the chest with a sharp object. The defendant admitted guilt during the investigation and did not receive any mitigating circumstances. The defendant, named Djikia, was 18 years old at the time of the incident. The court considered the evidence presented during the trial and found the defendant guilty of the crime.
