В Грузии задержали семь человек, обвиняемых в ограблении и похищении с целью получения выкупа нескольких граждан России. Об этом сообщает пресс-служба МВД страны.
По данным следствия, ночью злоумышленники пришли в квартиру к россиянам в Тбилиси под предлогом проверки утечки газа. Попав внутрь, они начали угрожать холодным оружием и забрали у хозяев $2 тыс., мобильные телефоны и ноутбук, после чего избили их.
Затем преступники потребовали у пострадавших еще $300 тыс., угрожая расправой. Через несколько часов жертв насильно усадили в автомобили и вывезли в сторону Марнеули.
Полиция задержала семерых подозреваемых в ходе операции в Марнеули и Гори. При этом МВД не уточняет, при каких обстоятельствах удалось освободить похищенных. Также неясно точное число пострадавших граждан РФ.
Следствие продолжается по статьям о разбое и незаконном лишении свободы. Задержанным грозит до 14 лет тюрьмы.
Сейчас силовики ищут возможных сообщников нападавших.
Seven people have been detained in Georgia on charges of robbery and kidnapping for ransom of several Russian citizens. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the investigation, at night the criminals came to the apartment of Russians in Tbilisi under the pretext of checking for a gas leak. Once inside, they began threatening with cold weapons and took $2,000, mobile phones and a laptop from the owners, after which they beat them.
The criminals then demanded another $300,000 from the victims, threatening violence. Several hours later, the victim was forcibly put into a car and taken toward Marneuli.
Police detained seven suspects during an operation in Marneuli and Gori. The Ministry of Internal Affairs does not specify under what circumstances the kidnapped persons were freed. The exact number of affected Russian citizens is also unclear.
The investigation continues under articles on robbery and illegal deprivation of liberty. The detainees face up to 14 years in prison.
Law enforcement officers are now searching for possible accomplices of the attackers.
