TBILISI, March 26 – @NGnewsgeorgia. Forbes Georgia published a ranking of the 100 wealthiest entrepreneurs in Georgia, demonstrating the scale of capital concentration and its connection to the country's political elite.

The total value of business assets of participants in the list exceeds 60 billion lari – almost 60% of the country's GDP and approximately three times more than state budget revenues. At the same time, 12 participants in the ranking have close ties to politics.

Forbes considered exclusively business assets confirmed by financial reports and audit data; houses, yachts, paintings and personal property were not included in the calculation.

The ranking also demonstrates structural features of the economy: five leading sectors – finance, trade, telecommunications, healthcare and real estate – account for about 70% of all assets.

Experts note that wealth is concentrated among the older generation: the majority of entrepreneurs are over 50 years old, only three are under 40, and two are 25 years old.

Among the female leaders on the list are 90-year-old Laura Larioni, who owns 38% of Pace Georgia (freight transportation and Port of Poti management), as well as Maka Asatiani (automotive industry and oil refining), Nana Aroshidze (real estate), Dali Urushadze (finance) and several others whose assets are concentrated in trade and services.
